About
An adventure studio for creatives, builders, and visionaries to build wonderful things.
1. We start things. 2. We help other people start things.
Why
The money game is very good at producing things that can be priced.
It is less good at protecting the things that make life worth living: healthy ecosystems, strong relationships, useful knowledge, beautiful places, capable people, and communities that work.
A forest is worth more than its board feet. A person is worth more than their productivity. A good idea can be worth pursuing before anyone knows how to monetize it.
West Wind exists to build more of the things the ledger has trouble seeing.
We’re not against profit. We just refuse to make it the only point.
What we do
We build some things ourselves. We help other people build things too.
- Good For Nothing Farm — bringing worn-out farmland back to life
- Sunday — a Sunday gathering for people who aren't religious.
- Developmental Spaces — environments designed for human development
- Green Pill — an illustrated book about the metacrisis
- World Frames — 260 ways of seeing the world
- Close Your Eyes and Imagine — collecting visions for futures people yearn for
- Field Notes — re-wilding a field.
And with others:
- Felt Sense — supporting the creation of a civic experiment in transformational spaces
- Made To Disappear — bringing certified home compostable cups and containers to Canada (PHA vs PLA)
- Yours — the thing you’ve been dreaming about
Who
West Wind was started by Brad Jawl. A founder and entrepreneur in healthcare and regenerative projects.
Around him: creatives, operators, technical, entrepreneurs, farmers, chefs, experts, volunteers, and everyone else a project needs. Wonderful humans.
We’re a small team and fast.
Got a thing?
Bring it.
Victoria, BC and around the world.
